Chartered Accountancy Franchise Opportunity | Money Metrics Chartered Accountants NZ

PRESS RELEASE: Tauranga, 1 April 2020

Money Metrics is encouraging chartered accountants with specialist business advisory experience to think beyond traditional pathways for their next career move.

Cassandra Park CA, Money Metrics’ founder and director, says that previously there were only three main options for accountants to progress in the industry including:

1. Entering into a partner buy-in option which can be an expensive exercise
2. Setting up a sole practitioner practice; or
3. Reaching a senior level in a firm, where careers often stagnate.

Now, Money Metrics is opening its books to a new alternative for chartered accountants with an entrepreneurial mindset. Their public practice franchise model enables talented professionals to acquire their own chartered accountancy business without the need to start from scratch.

Franchisees are equipped with an exclusive territory, full roaming workplace functionality, sound business processes, marketing, training and support systems. They can also enjoy the benefits of collaborating and staying connected with like-minded industry peers as part of the wider franchise family.

“We have a great brand, culture and clients, so it is important to grow a great team,” says Park. “Specifically, we’d love to talk to those who have a passion for supporting New Zealand’s vibrand SME culture and would like to help foster balance beyond the books.

With national, international and big firm experience, Park established Money Metrics in 2010. She was joined by Karyn Baker CA, who has similar experience, and since then they have built the company into a successful growing enterprise.

One of their main clients is a well-known New Zealand franchisor and they came to learn a lot about how to effectively operate a successful franchise.

Understanding these insights and impassioned to make chartered accounting services more affordable and accessible, the duo identified a similar gap in the industry marketplace that could help them achieve their vision.

Working with franchise consultants, Park and Baker reconfigured their business model in late 2019. But just as they were set to launch as a franchise, along came the pandemic, temporarily reprioritising efforts while they focused on supporting their clients through the disruption.

The delay was short lived and in October last year they quietly set about officially launching the franchise system, growing the foundations of the brand to include territories in Tauranga, Coromandel and Rotorua.

With nationwide growth firmly on their agenda, Money Metrics is working on a strategy to grow awareness with chartered accountants that franchising is an option.

“Many of us are busy looking after other people’s livelihoods, not our own,” says Park. “But we’d like to challenge the industry norm of how things might have been done in the past and create new opportunities for future career paths.”

If you are an experienced chartered accountant, with a background in public practice business advisory services, then Money Metrics would love to hear from you.
